When I Grow Up
So what did you aspire to be back then? Teacher, nurse, actress or writer? What are your reasons for such choices? There are lots of possible professions one could land to, and now I have become an accountant.
Being an accountant was not initially my wish to achieve. Back then, during my elementary years, I have thought of becoming a scientist, because I was curious about a lot of objects and I loved science. But that changed when i was in high school, when the thought of becoming a journalist crossed my mind. I had decided back then that i would enroll on mass communication for college, but everything did not materialize because my father did not allow me to. Instead, he suggested that I take up accounting so that I could be able to help him out on his accounting firm. Hence, my profession now...
But unfortunately, I was not able to help out my father full time because I got employed with the government.
I am happy with my profession now and it got me thinking that if i took up mass communications back then, how would I fare now? I really have no idea. I have always wanted to write (even now) but I just don't know if I could put up with the standards of journalism and broadcasting, since I am a shy type of person. And shyness has no place in that field.
How about you? Have you attained your initial goal? Or have made a detour?

Baby's Crying Moment
This crying scene happened this morning when my youngest son woke up and asked for a milk. I did not give him one because he have to eat his breakfast and drinking milk would take away his appetite. Hence, the crying...
I brought him to the dining table to have breakfast. But since he was already moody, he did not eat and continued crying...

Online Job Offer
Last week, someone contacted me at yahoo messenger and sent me an email message as shown below:
Right now, I am still weighing things if I could handle the job that he offered. Technically, it is just bookkeeping, that is no problem with me, but I worry about my time. I mean, I work from 8am to 5pm and when I get home, I do my blogging chores as well as check on the kids. I wonder if I could still spare some more hours for this job (about 50 hours per month).
Sigh! As what Lainy said in her post, wish there's more than 24 hours in a day.

Hooks To Decorate Home
Notice how bare this house is? Well, this is where we live at the moment and this is my parents' house. I have been a resident here for almost three decades and I loved it here very much. Anyway, this is an extension of their main house, which was built four years ago.
Now that our kids are getting mature, it is high time that we put some decorations around the house. Back when they were still small, it is hard for us to put some ornaments because kids would always lay their hands on them. We can put some boot racks and other functional stands on those spaces without any fear that the kids might trip over them while they are doing their usual running around.
Wrought Iron Haven dot com is just the perfect place to look for those stuffs for they got over 1,300 home and garden items. The site is greatly organized in such a way that one can easily browse through according to his or her liking, either by price or by product item. They value their customers so much that they offer free shipping on selected furniture items and a 24/7 online chat support.
What's more, they also offer great discounts when you get to their secret backdoor by clicking the comma in the line that reads "Our store now has over 1,300 house and garden items for you to choose from.", which can be found halfway down their homepage.
They also offer a 100% money back guarantee. Come now and take a look.

A Deficient Salesperson's Story
This story is about me.
I remember one time I applied for an online job few months back, before I became part of this blogging world. The ad said that they were in need of a virtual administrative assistant, to which I believed to have a job description of sending emails, making appointments and other usual stuffs one assistant are supposed to do.
Well, the employer contacted me alright, through yahoo messenger and so we had a few lines of chat until she asked me if I have a headset because she is going to call. Fortunately, my brother's headset was still functional during that time and so the said employer called.
I was so nervous during that night because it was my first time to talk to a foreigner over the phone. But somehow I managed to answer her personal questions and so I thought everything would turn out smoothly until she asked me for any experience I had with sales.
Sales?! I am not so much of a marketing personality to begin with. I have to admit I am inferior on that department and I usually struggle to find the right words to say to a prospective client. But then all I managed to say was that I had some little experience and I am willing to learn everything it takes to be good at sales. Thought that was about it, but the lady further questioned me something that has left me startled...
"How do you sell orange juice to a blind person?"
What kind of question was that? On my mind, that was so easy but when I figured out the words I have to say, I was lost. Yeah, how will I describe the orange color to a blind person, much more describe to him an orange juice? That I do not know. And it left me thinking until this very moment what the best answer would be.
So, did I get the job? You guessed it right...nah! Well, fortunately another employer hired me few days later and the whole interview thing about sales was all part of the past.

Hospital Gowns Out, Healing Threads In
To add, all my three birth deliveries were done in the hospital and so it was inevitable to wear the hospital gown, most especially during the labor and delivery.
I find it uncomfortable to wear a hospital gown. Maybe I still consider myself conservative, that I don't want to display my skin for my visitors to see. Or maybe I am just ashamed that my "chubby" body would be exposed. Aside from that, those gowns have no sense of fashion in them, which would make hospital patients all the more sick and cold. I just hope that hospitals here in our place would consider having healing threads as the official apparel of their patients.
What are healing threads? Healing threads are the dignified and comfortable recovery clothing that are to be used specifically during and after medical treatments. They are dignified in a sense that they are stylish yet functional - - a great alternative indeed for those thin and old-fashioned hospital gowns.
The Healing Threads were conceptualized by sisters Peg and Claire who were both diagnosed with serious illnesses and were forced to stay in the hospital. They started making four hospital gown designs with two pants styles, which were truly accepted and admired.
At HealingThreads dot com, great products are for sale like the The Original Healing Threads Casual (photo shown at the right). These clothing have an ingenious arrangement of soft closures in such a way that only those body parts that need to be exposed are exposed, thereby modestly covering the other parts.
So after knowing all these, I hoped hospitals would try them so that patients would not feel defective.

How Do You Eat Fruits?
So do you eat fruits? How do you eat them?
Well, that was not right all along. Fruits do not stay long in the stomach due to its sugar content which can be digested easily, unlike the food we take during meal time like starch, fats and protein. So if we eat fruits after meals, they will be stuck inside the stomach because of the previously eaten food, and would eventually ferment thus causing discomfort on your stomach.
It is recommended that fruits be eaten on an empty stomach, so they will not be trapped inside as they are digested.
Well, this was indeed a great tip I learned about health and fitness.

Sports In My Life
My first encounter with sports was when I was in Grade 6, and somehow that became the turning point in my life to love the world of sports. It was our school sports fest and our teacher picked me as the captain ball of the volleyball team of our class. I was horrified at such thought but fortunately, my classmates taught me rigidly and I was surprised to myself that I have made it through. I remembered I even skipped a family gathering just to practice volleyball with my team. Every year since then, I played the game every sports fest until I graduated from high school. I stopped during college but became active again when I got employed because I belonged to a sports-minded organization.
In college, I got fascinated with basketball that I even spent my allowance on NBA cards, magazines and books. I knew all the game schedules especially those of the Chicago Bulls. I even skip classes just to watch their game live on TV. I kept track of their stats and was so delighted with their 72-10 record! Oh well that was the past but reminiscing about them brought some smile on my lips.
Now I watch some online sports videos whenever I get the time. It is such pleasure watching sports vids because you get to get some insights from the athletes themselves and observe their moves. I got to watch this video from SportsVids.com and thought of sharing it here.

Wow!
Well today, that is the number of opps that I am qualified to take. 27 opps but there were already some which have been grayed. Anyway, that is still so much for me.
Unfortunately, I could not take them all, because those 20 plus opps requires a lot of time. Given the fact that I do blogging only after office, or if I have some extra time, that would be hard for me.
But once again, a great thanks to PPP!

Belly Dancing
What can I say? But this is my latest fascination!
I have studied the dance eventually and I like it. Well, I haven't mastered the basics yet and I am still struggling to learn everything, but hey, I also found some great results too. Now I felt my waistline inching off a few. And just a mere 7 minute belly dance song could already loosen out the sweat within me, not only on my belly but even on my arms and legs. I usually drink Fit n Right before I do the dance exercise and it feels great doing the whole routine.
Here's a video that I play again and again over at youtube, while learning the basics of belly dancing. Enjoy!

I Love You.
Just received a text message from hubby few hours ago, and I can't help but let out a big grin. I just then realize that at this age of mine, goosebumps still exist, hehe. Well, he just texted me a reminder that he loves me so much. That's about it and my knees already weaken (exag!).
Giving reminders to our loved ones how much they are loved and cherished really gives a great impact. They are just words, yes, but LOVELY words indeed! They truly represent the spices in a relationship. They may be taken for granted at times but I know, they have the power to move mountains.
I was ashamed at first to express those words of affection but as time goes on and I realized its importance, I came to learn to say it.
Have a great week!

A Touching Family Story
A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, May I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know.. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $10.00?'
The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often.
The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man.
'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $10.00 you asked for.' The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled.
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The father was crushed! He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness…. .
A blessed Saturday to all!

Wacky?!
Week 14 is up at the Pinay Mommies Community Weekly Fest and I am really thrilled for this week's theme, which is entitled Lucky Me! Wacky Me!
Well, here's my entry and just by posting this right now makes me dig up those sands and hide there forever!
This picture is taken last May 2008 at the Pandan Island in Palawan, where we had our annual national convention for government CPAs. With me are my officemates and we were instructed to do some wacky poses, hence this look. We really had a great time even though we had shortness of breaths after doing this (actually this had about 5 shots in a row).
By the way, sponsors for this week's fest are Beauty of Life, Money Maker, and Creations.

Spread The Christmas Spirit
Got this tag from Jhelea, wanting me to post about my wish for Christmas. Read on.
1. Bits and Pieces by Jan: I wish Gino and I will be able to convince friends to help us sponsor a simple Christmas party for the children of White Cross Children’s Home in San Juan.
5. Me, Myself and I : I wish that I could donate something in a charity or for anyone who badly needs a help this year. And of course, WORLD PEACE!
6. In this Game of Life : I wish poverty will be alleviated to those who are suffering from it. I pray that kids all over the world, especially those who are supressed and abused to be spared from harm and sickness. And those who are affected of any wars will be spared from violence. We will continue with our yearly family tradition of spending time and our gifts to the babies and kids at Cribs Foundation.
8. Complex Life: I wish the war in Mindanao would end. I pity those soldiers and rebels who lost their lives because of the chaotic situation there. I also pity the innocent people who are greatly affected. I wish we could finally live in a peaceful world.
9. Irresistible Fascinations: I wish that people would understand the true meaning of the Christmas season, so that peace and harmony would eventually follow.
Let me hear your Christmas wishes - - Honey, Guia and Liza.

Frustrated Loser
I went to dance exercise sessions twice a week, so that helped me sweat out and take off the extra fats. However, food is so hard to avoid! I am so much of a rice eater, so that would be really hard to lose weight. I hope I could finally muster my motivation and devote more effort in losing those above-extra pounds.
But how? Sigh!

Seafoods. . . Wow!
One favorite that my kids and even my husband would love to always have are the shrimps. Whether being cooked together with the noodles, vegetables, etc., they would never fail to consume them with gusto.
Well, talking about shrimps, there's this recipe that looked so much delicious I could hardly wait for hubby to try cooking it. The food looks so tempting and upon knowing that its main ingredient is shrimp, whoa!... this I gotta try. It's named Texas Gulf Shrimp, by Chef Mark Holley from Texas. This recipe is an entry to the greatest cook off contest at www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com and I would be rooting for this one. Here's the preview of the recipe's output:
Well, isn't that mouth-watering? If you think so, then join the fun and cast your vote to the great seafood recipes and get the chance to win a trip to New Orleans!

Ohhh..Stomach Pains!
So, how do you diagnose yourself every time you feel your stomach hurting? A simple test will do whether you are suffering from excessive stomach acid or not. This can be done by swallowing a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.
If the said vinegar or lemon juice takes the pain away, then it means your stomach has too little acid in it. If it makes the pain worse, then you have a very acidic stomach. Mind you, the pain is very excruciating...(well, I even preferred to undergo birth labor than acid reflux pain).
Stomach acidity performs at its best when a person is stressed. Another thing, taking aspirin and steroids could contribute to the formation of acid in the stomach. Alcohol consumption as well as heavy smoking could also be a great factor.
