Glee Season 2

In just a week, the second season of FOX's musical-comedy show Glee will have its premiere. I feel excited about it because a fellow Filipino in the person of Charice is going to be part of it. She will be playing a foreign exchange student named Sunshine Corazon, and is expected to be Rachel's (Lea Michele) rival in terms of vocal chords.

Well, aside from Charice, this show is making me thrilled to see Mr. Schuester once again. I doubt it if he will ever get back with his ex-wife here but I do hope they will. As much as millions of fans hate Terry for being a villain that she is in Will's life, I am longing that one day they could be together again. I just believe they look good together. Anyway, I look forward for more song and dance numbers of him in the show and as always, the perfect teacher McKinley High could ever ask for!

Then, there is Sue Sylvester, played by award-winner Jane Lynch. She is the school's cheering squad coach who strives for excellence. Well, who wouldn't excel then, she is so strict and particular as far as her cheerios are concerned. I really find her amusing, despite her efforts of crushing down the Glee club. And her lines, they are just so funny - - I liked it the way she said them, it's just so natural. There may be times that I get annoyed with her, but hey, I understand that it is her role anyway.

Kurt is also a favorite of mine, played by Chris Colfer. He is a wealthy gay member of Glee, who is so refined in many ways. I also am thrilled to see Rachel Berry once again, and I should say I really admired her voice. Her love story with Finn (Cory Monteith) is interesting to follow, although I wanted her to end up with Jesse, a glee club member from a rival school.

Well, I love to see most of them once again. It will be on TV starting this 21st of September, which is exactly a week from now. This excitement is really getting into me, that I wonder if this will be available through Online TV, because if it is, then there is no reason for me to miss it. For sure, all GLEEks out there are tuning in the boobtube at this day.

Here's a sneak preview by the way and Charice is on it.

How about you? Are you familiar with Glee? Who's your favorite character?

Missing FRIENDS

Are you familiar with the now defunct TV show called Friends? Well, it was one of my favorites.

Are you familiar with these people then? They have been my favorite characters since way back and I follow them until now even on their separate projects, especially Jen Aniston and Matthew Perry. I am incredibly missing the show. Who wouldn't miss those hilarious antics, funny lines, amusing clashes and happy get-togethers? The numerous awards the show and the casts' have garnered were proof enough that this show was indeed loved by many.

It has already been a long time since their last airing. I do hope the people behind this wonderful show would decide on bringing it up back to air or maybe make a movie, just to get the six of them back together. That would definitely be outstanding!

By the way, what's your favorite FRIENDS episode?

Disney's My School Rocks

This coming September 21 is the Asia Finals of My School Rocks, the largest inter-school dance competition by Disney. This will be held in Hong Kong Disneyland and four (4) teams have the privilege to compete with one another. Fortunately, Philippines has a contender and they are the Janssen Knights.

The Janssen Knights composed of five young ladies from the Holy Spirit School, namely Lyza Mae, Jessica, Czarina, Julia Claire and Krizia. Hope they could make it to victory and my kids are already excited to watch them. You can send them messages of encouragement and support here, just like what my kids did.

Other contenders for this wonderful event are YCH2 Dance from Hong Kong, Funky Crew from Singapore, and the BU4Girlz.com from Malaysia.

Congratulations Miss Venezuela!

A 22-year old lass from Venezuela won the prestigious Miss Universe Pageant, held at Nha Trang, Vietnam some few hours ago. Her name is Dayana Mendoza, a model and interior designer student, who measures 5'10 in height. She wore an elegant yellow evening gown, when she was crowned the winner.

Before the final announcement, Miss Mendoza was joined by the representatives of Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Russia in the top five posts.

This year's prize package includes cash, world travel, a rent-free luxurious New York apartment, a year-long contract to represent the Miss Universe and a giftbag filled with lots of designer dresses, shoes and accessories.

Lobo: The Finale

This week will never be the same again because Lobo has bid its goodbye last Friday via its finale episode which was really very touching and great. The said show will be replaced with Iisa Pa Lamang, featuring the debut comeback of Gabby Concepcion but I am really not into this kind of show (well, let's just see, why not?).

Since the beginning of Lobo, I was already hooked into it. Aside from the curiosity that I had for Angel Locsin (since I really don't watch the Kapuso channel) on how well she looked at act onscreen, it is also a team to look forward to, the Angel-Piolo (GeLo) team-up I mean. And the story is quite different too. It is a mixture of drama, romance, comedy, action, fantasy and thriller. And the casts have really gave their best performances for the show (except for a few stars but they are tolerable). The finale last Friday was superb, especially the part where the main couple died in each other's arms and did never let go.

My kids have come to love this show also, and they are the ones who reminded me every primetime that "Mommy, Lobo is on TV already!". The wedding scene of Agot and Eric Fructuoso gave the show its happy ending, while the last scene where Angel and Piolo had a walk with their twins and had a kiss was very heart-warming.

Wonder what's in store for the two main stars now that Lobo is over. Heard that Piolo might be paired up with Bea in Betty La Fea, while Angel might be paired with John Lloyd in the near future. Well, those are still rumors but who knows?

My Girl - Pinay Version

ABS-CBN has just launched its newest primetime soap last Monday, titled My Girl. I have been an avid viewer of the original My Girl, where I even explored the site of SBS (Korean TV Network) for some juicy updates of the said Koreanovela. Lee Dong Wok (who plays Julian) was just so handsome while Lee Da Hae (Jasmin) was so hilarious and lovable. I even watched it on DVD, thanks to my brother's girlfriend who lent it to me.

Now, on Philippine version, My Girl is already being aired after Lobo (my fave too!). Kim Chiu portrays Jasmin and I should say that she did a good job this time. She have captured the character of Jasmin in her own way, and with that she emerged stellar. Her Mandarin is also very smooth and it's like watching a Taiwanese soap every time she speaks the language. Gerald Anderson plays Julian, but I will not comment about his acting skills anymore. Sorry, he looked young for the role and mono-faced, but I can tolerate it anyway.

The show has become another favorite of mine. It's a good thing its slot is right after Lobo, so I wouldn't have to wait and my viewing pleasure is continuous.

ABS-CBN vs GMA

The war between the two giant Philippine television networks has been brewing for so long now, and we still don't have any idea when it's gonna end. I don't know how it all began, but I should say that this war has also created some rifts among its avid viewers. Many Kapamilya viewers (where I am one) are ever-ready to defend their favorite network, and same with those Kapuso viewers.

VS

Many artists have come and go, hopping from one network to the other, with the hope that the big switch will further elevate the status of their respective careers. Very recently, Heart Evangelista transferred to GMA 7, with the hope that her boyfriend Jericho Rosales will follow her, haha...you wish! Many said that she is a good riddance since she has changed a lot. Meanwhile, the Kapamilya network is welcoming Billy Joe Crawford as part of their family, being the new host to the show, Pinoy Dream Academy 2.

Well, as viewers, we'll just watch out how their career moves will fare. But for the meantime, my loyalty still remains with ABS-CBN, even though there are times that they kept me disappointed.

Which network are you?

Teen Edition Plus

I used to watch all the Pinoy Big Brother shows, especially since the first celebrity edition wherein Bianca and Zanjoe met and became close. That was the best season ever for me, followed by the Season 2, where Robert and Saicy also met and fell in love. Till then, I became their supporter, to which until now I get in touch with them through text.

Yesterday was the launch of the Teen Edition Plus. I was not able to watch it because I have to get my kids to sleep and unfortunately, I forgot all about it and also dozed off as soon as I found them asleep.

Anyway, I was not woried if I haven't catched the opening salvo, since there's the 24/7 live feed, to which I was an avid viewer way back. Sad to say, as I switched my channel to the usual number 15 (here in our local cable), I realized that there was no live feed. I immediately called our local cable operator and inquired what channel did they place the live feed, and their answer left me open-mouthed, but somehow I have managed to say..."ah...uhm, ok thanks!".

The person who answered the phone told me that there was no live feed at the moment because ABS-CBN is still fixing some things. They don't know for sure when the fixing will end, and their manager was still negotiating with the network, eager to subscribe to the live feed since many viewers here are already inquiring the cable operator about it. They even heard talks that Teen Edition Plus will not have any live feed, and it would only resume on Pinoy Dream Academy...(well, that's a long time to wait...).

I hope ABS will take double time in fixing everything. I am already eager to know the housemates.

Unfinished Business

As of this writing, the day is Monday, March 10, 2008. This day is six days before the grand event that would take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is a boxing rematch between our very own Manny Pacquiao and Mexican's champ Juan Manuel Marquez, entitled Unfinished Business.

Of course, it is a very well known fact that everybody is eager for this rematch. Surely, come Sunday, Filipino people would be glued to their seats with their eyes fully focused on the television screens, maybe cheering for Manny. And that includes my hubby, who is a boxing enthusiast. Many movie houses have offered to telecast the said fight for those anxious viewers who want to watch it on the big screen. Well, one thing for sure will be inevitable, streets will be clear this coming Sunday.

Likewise, bets will not be absent with this kind of event. I'm sure there are many bets circulating around the country and even in the venue itself.

Just like everyone else, I am also excited to watch out for this, with the hope and prayer that Manny would win this fight, again for the Filipinos. Definitely another victory to watch out for.

Kids' Entertainment

I am just amazed how drawn my kids are to television. I could no longer watch my favorite tv shows because all my kids watch their faves and unfortunately, their favorite programs were shown just as the shows that I wanted to take a glimpse to are also shown. Sigh!

So, what do my kids watch lately? There are so much stuff they watched on tv... they surf from channel to channel and memorized the time schedules the shows are gonna shown. Here are some of the boob tube programs that made their eyes glued to the television for countless hours....

Mr. Bean

Tom and Jerry

Dora the Explorer

Pingu

Shaun the Sheep

Spongebob Squarepants

There are still other programs my kids are fond of... which has somehow made me stick to it too... like High School Musical, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Blue's Clues, Hi Five, Kim Possible and most especially Totally Spies! I wouldn't miss a single episode of this program...

Having my children watch television may be beneficial in terms of peace and harmony at home. Because when their favorite show is on, they would behave themselves and just sit on the couch and watch... unlike when they have nothing to busy themselves on... then, everything would not be in place. However, too much watching also hinders the development of children relative to the oral communication skills of the child.
