Be Grateful.

Got another tag from Lena. This time it is different because she has asked me to write about a very positive word... GRATITUDE.

Well, gratitude is something that is already seldom seen among individuals. We may have all the faults and failures in life, and people already tend to blame everyone for what he has gone through. Not welcoming the idea that there is more about him to be thankful for, because each person is created by God in his own unique ways.

Here's a message I got from email, which is inspirational in my opinion.

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?". Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first let me do this". He proceeded to crumple up the bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well", he replied, " What if I will do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up , now crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went up in the air.

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who do love you.

Truly inspiring? For me it is. We should never lose hope in times of downfall and be grateful for those people who stood by us in those times. Well, I would like to take these opportunity to thank all those people who have been an instrument for my happiness and contentment. You guys have made my world a beautiful place.

Go on and continue to inspire others with your words of gratitude. Now I am tagging ........

Dance for Health

To materialize my deal with hubby regarding losing weight, I attended a dance exercise class few hours ago. Since dancing is my most favorite skill (my friends call me dan.ce.rous), I think I have to take this seriously and do it regularly.

And so I went to JAMV Dance Studio, the most sought after studio here in our place. They have a number of regular members who were paying on a monthly basis. Some are just walk-in participants, paying 50 pesos per hour. An officemate of mine referred this studio to me about three years ago but I only got the time to go and check it out six months ago. Now, I am also tagging along some other officemates whenever I go to JAMV. The more, the merrier.

I really enjoyed dancing. I don't know why but whenever I hear dance tunes, my body begins to move. Well, not publicly but there is something inside me that shouts dance...dance...dance. Dancing with others is enjoyable. I had fun looking at my own reflection since the studio is surrounded by mirrors. After the dance and all those sweat unleashing, it feels so refreshing and light. It's like playing badminton and volleyball, haha.

Try for yourself. This is good, even if losing weight is not in your agenda.

Unpredictable Weather

I could not comprehend the weather today.

This morning the sun was shining so brightly, I was even glad that the undies I washed last night would get dry. It was hot, that when I arrived at the office I immediately headed for the airconditioner's cool air.

Well, that was only for about three hours, coz by 10am, it rained. The rain was so hard, that the sky even dimmed and what seemed a sunny day earlier was totally the opposite. See what the weather can do in just a matter of minutes? Anyway, after an hour and a half of rainfall, the sun was up again, with all its glowing glory. Oh well.

And now, as I was writing this post, the rain is pouring again, very hard.

This unpredictable weather condition is definitely not making good for us. Its sudden change of mood is really making people sick... as in literally sick. That is why there are a lot of cases of colds, cough, flu and those more chronic ones nowadays.

I just hope my kids are inside the house and not running around in the yard now. I can't afford another trip and stay in the hospital.

P A L A W A N

We got an invitation by the national president of the Government Association of Certified Public Accountants (GACPA) to participate in its 3oth Annual National Convention, which will take place in May 12-14 at Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Our first reaction to the invitation was.... "waaahhh, we should attend and get our noses on the sands of Palawan!!!".

GACPA has already taken us places before... in Cagayan de Oro (2003), Iloilo (2005), Baguio (2006) and Cebu (2007). Now, its Palawan and hope we could get the permission from our bosses to attend and off we go....

This will be my first time to land in Palawan, granted that we could be able to attend the convention. And so, to prepare my for my soon-to-be trip, I was browsing through the web to explore more about Palawan.

Palawan has about 1,780 islands and is situated between Mindoro and Borneo. It is declared as the nature sanctuary of the world, adorned with magnificent dive sites, refreshing rainforests, archaic caves and breathtaking coral reefs embellished with colorful and lively marine living things. Countless sea creatures could be glimpsed underwater, that are very pleasant and vibrant to view. Likewise, various flora and fauna are present in the area, with other rare species.

Aside from the living creatures, Palawan also boasts of its awesome resorts and pristine beaches. The place is heaven, and really blessed with all the beauty every person has never laid eyes on...(for me that's not an overstatement). Many tourists have been drawn to this beautiful place and vowed to return to explore more of its wonders. Anyway, Palawan waters are among the best in the world, with its crystal sands. It is also known as the last ecological frontier of the Philippines.

I can't wait to see for myself, with all these information about Palawan. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be granted the authority to attend.

My Blog is Approved!

After a series of efforts on submitting my blog for approval, Pay Per Post (PPP) finally decided to have me as part of their circle. I am so much glad for the approval that I was able to let off a huge grin.

Why did I set the hurdles just to get Pay Per Post’s approval? Well, as a novice blogger, there is this need to fully belong and have a place in the online world, where everything is virtual. When everything is still so new, I tend to lean on to something that I know is already an institution in blog marketing.

Further, blogging accounts for things that one may have a feel or say about it and why not utilize it to the extreme. While I have been posting entries every now and then, why not once in a while earn something out from those posts? Pay Per Post is really a welcome option to earn money online, with so much opportunity in store for bloggers. Various topics to write about are offered.

I look forward to doing more opportunities with PPP. It does not only enables me to earn financially, but also skillfully, since this is also a great venue to enhance one’s writing skills.

Photo Impact Part Two

I was up again doing some fan arts for Robert and Saicy as our thread at PEX is approaching to 5,000 posts and we are about to make another thread soon.

Well, thanks to Photo Impact and they have another trial version, which I downloaded two days ago.

Here are my finished products... they are not very outstanding works though... just from the efforts of a neophyte still learning the basics.

I also made some for my hubby and daughter too...

Teen Edition Plus

I used to watch all the Pinoy Big Brother shows, especially since the first celebrity edition wherein Bianca and Zanjoe met and became close. That was the best season ever for me, followed by the Season 2, where Robert and Saicy also met and fell in love. Till then, I became their supporter, to which until now I get in touch with them through text.

Yesterday was the launch of the Teen Edition Plus. I was not able to watch it because I have to get my kids to sleep and unfortunately, I forgot all about it and also dozed off as soon as I found them asleep.

Anyway, I was not woried if I haven't catched the opening salvo, since there's the 24/7 live feed, to which I was an avid viewer way back. Sad to say, as I switched my channel to the usual number 15 (here in our local cable), I realized that there was no live feed. I immediately called our local cable operator and inquired what channel did they place the live feed, and their answer left me open-mouthed, but somehow I have managed to say..."ah...uhm, ok thanks!".

The person who answered the phone told me that there was no live feed at the moment because ABS-CBN is still fixing some things. They don't know for sure when the fixing will end, and their manager was still negotiating with the network, eager to subscribe to the live feed since many viewers here are already inquiring the cable operator about it. They even heard talks that Teen Edition Plus will not have any live feed, and it would only resume on Pinoy Dream Academy...(well, that's a long time to wait...).

I hope ABS will take double time in fixing everything. I am already eager to know the housemates.

Be Fit n Right

My husband and I made a deal last night. It is not something big though but it's about our bodies. Well, we agreed to get that fit n right body and our target date is on the 31st of December, 2008. He will be going to transform his skinny body into a muscular and hunky physique, while I will be kissing my overweight body goodbye and work on to be slim.

Sounds petty but I am really worried that I might not make it on the target date. I don't know why but I should say that getting slim is so very difficult to do. Thinking about it already made my mind go around, left me feeling like I lost about 20 lbs...(well, feeling lang).

What should I do in order to achieve my desired result? Currently, I am participating in a dance exercise class, although not regularly but only one hour per week. I guess I have to increase the hours then, but the problem is if I have the time. Then, I guess I also have to cut down my rice intake, but then again, I am a rice-person. I am so fond of pastries, and I hate to bid adieu to these sumptuous creations.

We still have not thought of the reward yet once we get the accomplishment. But it should better be irresistible considering that this is a hard challenge.

It shall be very complex for me as I undergo this deal. I hope I could make it through and I know I am doing this for my own good. Wish me luck guys.

6/49 Super Lotto

Wow, I was checking again with PCSO's website and the prize money went up to P207M! That truly is a lot of money!

Too bad, I haven't bought any ticket today...I thought all the while that they will take a day off for the following days since it is holy week. Tsk...tsk...tsk.

Roaches

I didn't have a good sleep last night.

My youngest son did his usual bother as he was asking for his ration - - milk - -and so I dutifully obliged to prepare the mixture and handed it to him for his consumption.

That was just alright, as I would have just gone back to sleep. But then, there was this creature that started to make his appearance to which really disturbed me and left me scared... cockroach!

The cockroach was crawling on the wall just above us, and I managed to grab my husband's slippers ready to slap at it. I did not bother to wake my husband anymore, since he was drunk earlier and had dozed off very deeply. It was unfortunate for me because as I was going to plunge the slipper to the wall where the cockroach situated, my son woke up again and moved, which has somehow distracted me. That gave the cockroach to run off and land on my husband's hair. Whew!

As much as I wanted to kill the cockroach, I just made no more effort anymore. But being scared of cockroaches really made me uneasy last night. I have slept, yes... but every now and then, I woke up just to see if it was starting to roam the room again.

I do hope it will not bother me tonight.

Me, Myself and I (tag)

Here's another tag from Lena and Claire (thanks mga sis!). This one is fun, and easy to answer because all questions just pertains to myself... but then, there are some that still requires a little thinking. So, think aloud!

I AM a wife and a mother.
I WANT to have a shopping spree this May.
I HAVE three kids.
I WISH to have a long and stress-free vacation.
I HATE deceit.
I FEAR cockroaches!!!
I SEARCH for clothes that fit me... (I'm overweight).
I WONDER how Manny would spend his recently earned money...
I REGRET not being thrifty.
I LOVE my kids and my hubby.
I ALWAYS go online.
I AM NOT a singer.
I DANCE very very much...hehehe...
I SING to myself only.
I CRY when worry and sadness envelopes me.
I WRITE more about personal stuff.
I AM CONFUSED where to send my daughter for Grade 1.
I NEED to work now, I'm in my office.
I SHOULD finish this tag.

THE LAST THOUGHT YOU GO TO SLEEP WITH IS all my wishes will miraculously come true.

Now, I'm tagging Tina, Jana, Weng, Chinny and Cathy. Enjoy!

Graduation...at last.

This morning was the graduation ceremony of my daughter from Kinder II. I was really thankful that she have joined the said ceremony, after her doctor allowed her to. She was confined last sunday due to asthma attack, and we are really wondering if she could make it to march down the aisle and receive her diploma.

Well, the pediatrician finally gave her nod and so we went out of the hospital few minutes before the graduation program is about to start.

The school was full of parents and relatives of the graduates, as expected. And since it is a public school, the event is not something that would trigger competition in terms of physical appearance, since they are all instructed to wear only their uniform. After the program was lunch, wherein we were requested to bring some edible items to share to everybody.

I am also thrilled with the said event because my daughter was one of the pupils of who got high honors, although that is not a top achiever in the class (since there were also who got the highest honors). Likewise, she was also the class' most obedient pupil...(hmmm, that left me wondering how come she does not portray that at home).

Well, to all the graduates, let me say Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Super Lotto

I was checking with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) website for the results of their 'Swertres' game, wherein players choose three numbers from 0-9, and they win if the three numbers got picked in exact order.

What struck my attention as I opened their website was the prize money for their 6/49 Super Lotto game, which amounted to P184 million, as of March 16, 2008. P184 million is already a lot of money, considering that majority of the Filipinos belong to the poor, this is surely a big catch.

No one has won the prize, and I bet it will now increase. My husband has urged me to join the play, I hope I will not forget to drop by this coming Thursday. Well, I wonder if there will be a draw at this time, since it is a Holy Thursday..... hmmm.....

Congratulations!

I just want to express my heartfelt congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for capturing the title yesterday, in his boxing bout against the former champion, Juan Manuel Marquez.

Thanks for bringing home another victory for the Philippines! Mabuhay!

Babies

Babies are really angels. One look at them and every sorrow just fades away. Personally, I am not fond of children, but when I got married and had my own, everything changed.

Anyway, got an email from a friend, which featured cute little angels on unusual scenes. I could not keep myself from being amazed how kids could make you smile despite the annoying and unpleasant circumstances that we are in. Well, just want to share them here. Aren't they lovely? Such innocence and gullibility, these pictures depict their truthfulness.

Have a happy weekend everyone! Spend them with your kids.

A Text Message

I was amused with this text message I just received. The reason I am amused is because the sender usually texts me on 10am onwards... depending on what time she usually gets up from sleep. But now, it's only 8am and here she is, with the regular text messages.

She usually wakes up at around 10 or 11am, because she also sleeps late due to rehearsals, especially now that she was busy with some mall and out of town shows.

Anyway, just wanna share her text message today... it may be simple but the fact that she sent it early, is something that is "oowwwsss?" to me.

The best part of our life is when our family becomes our friends and our friends becomes our family. May God allow us to bond closer with those precious to us. Good Morning!
By the way, the message came from Saicy Aguila, such a sweet and humble girl.

St. Patrick's Day

Just received an email from a friend. The mail is regularly sent to me at least four times a week, if not daily. It contains the morning thoughts for the day, together with some stories that would leave me pondering on about life in general.

But today, together with the morning thoughts, there was a greeting which says "Happy St. Patrick's Day". Curious what this is all about (since we don't have that kind of occasion here in the Philippines), I took some time browsing through some pages just to get an idea.

The St. Patrick's Day is dedicated to Irish people in the world. St. Patrick, who was the patron saint of Ireland was said to be the one responsible for bringing Christianity to Ireland. A devout Christian famously known for his two works (Confessio and Epistola), St. Patrick was described as the "most humble-minded man". he was also said to have driven away all the snakes from Ireland...(isn't that amazing?). The said event is a traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.

By the way, here's the morning thought...just an added bonus.

Your morning thought for the day:

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
-- Irish Blessing

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Querida

My daughter was taking her entrance exam yesterday for grade one. Since the exam went whole day, due to a series of tests (IQ, Psychological, Creativity, Multiple Intelligence, Diagnostic and Interview), I was stucked in the school waiting for her to get through.

Well, while waiting for her, I was having a chat with a fellow mom named Anne. We hit it off well, since our daughters are both named Nicole. After some casual chit-chats, our conversation went serious when she relayed some of her past marital experiences.

In her story, she told me that her husband once has an affair with another woman. What made the matter worse was that… that other woman had the nerve to bother and threaten her with text messages!

I wonder how come women are becoming more and more confident nowadays to come out in the open and declare their being “the other woman”. Just where did all those decency go? It may not be completely their fault for falling on married guys but the least they could do is make a peaceful exit from the picture.

I remembered this story that truly happened… Diego*, who has been married for over ten years had an affair with Lea*, his officemate. Their relationship blossomed because they were constant companions on the office, belonging in the same division. Lea is single, and although her looks are not that really pleasant, her shapely figure did justice to her over-all appearance. Since Diego’s wife was away (working out of the country), their rendezvous did not just end inside the office but made its way to a much more intimate liaison. Soon, Lea was transferred to another branch but the transfer did not hinder the ever-growing bond that they already had.

The wife learned of the said affair and immediately found her way back to their home. Sad enough, the illicit affair still continued, and worst, Lea got pregnant. What further complicates the scenario was when Diego called it quits with Lea and the latter threaten the former to commit suicide should he go on with the decision. What could a man do? So he just gave in as if nothing happened. When Diego avoids Lea (meaning, no longer returning her calls, not replying to her text messages, et al.), Lea would courageously go to Diego’s house with some dangerous weapons, and creates a scandal of herself… informing Diego’s wife that she came to get Diego and their kids. Thanks to management intervention of their office, the case has been observed. The spotlight for Lea has died down and everything is quiet now. Recently, Lea gave birth to the baby, but the relationship is still going on....discreetly.

With that story, I was really appalled with the way “other women” are acting. I should be thankful that did not happen to me…because frankly speaking I really don’t have the idea how to go about it. The sad thing here is that, the loyal wives, who are the victims of the situation, were eventually made the outlaw because of their behaviors. My heart reaches out to them. Tsk…Tsk…Tsk.

* not their true names

Unfinished Business

As of this writing, the day is Monday, March 10, 2008. This day is six days before the grand event that would take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is a boxing rematch between our very own Manny Pacquiao and Mexican's champ Juan Manuel Marquez, entitled Unfinished Business.

Of course, it is a very well known fact that everybody is eager for this rematch. Surely, come Sunday, Filipino people would be glued to their seats with their eyes fully focused on the television screens, maybe cheering for Manny. And that includes my hubby, who is a boxing enthusiast. Many movie houses have offered to telecast the said fight for those anxious viewers who want to watch it on the big screen. Well, one thing for sure will be inevitable, streets will be clear this coming Sunday.

Likewise, bets will not be absent with this kind of event. I'm sure there are many bets circulating around the country and even in the venue itself.

Just like everyone else, I am also excited to watch out for this, with the hope and prayer that Manny would win this fight, again for the Filipinos. Definitely another victory to watch out for.

Mike Test Myself

Few hours from now, I will conducting a mini-seminar for some employees in the government. The seminar will talk about how to audit the payroll and other related salaries and wages accounts of business entities, since their job requires them to investigate employer records whether such businesses remits the correct amount of premiums to them.

Auditing has already been part of my life. For almost 10 years (it will be 10 this coming December), this has been my job. And so, I am confident to say that I am fully armed for the seminar, knowing that I have done this routinarily for a decade.

But then, I could not deny to have this funny feeling of anxiety. Maybe because this is my first time to face fellow government employees, and wonder what questions might be raised? Oh well, I hope I could meet all their queries smoothly.

For the meantime, I am keeping my hopes up that everything would turn out okay. I want to go over my notes, but looking at them already makes me throw up (excuse me...).

Wish me luck!

Beware of an Angry Boss

Each worker has a boss. Lucky for some who have a very nice boss, but lots of luck for those who have otherwise. Bad and difficult bosses can really be a complex situation in a workplace. According to William Krug, a professor at Purdue University, "Although there are many different kinds of bosses, bad boss behavior usually stems from the supervisor throwing his or her power around. Some even take a certain delight in being difficult."

There are ways on how to deal with a bad and angry boss:

* Make sure you are accurate. Always make sure that you are familiar with what you are saying and that your facts and figures are right. If what you are saying is inaccurate, it gives your boss an edge, even if the way he or she is treating you is wrong.

• Always document. Presenting facts is a great way to circumvent the emotional thought process that often goes on between boss and employee. Documentation has been made easier with e-mail because it gives you a clear trail of what happened, when it happened and what action was taken, which can help prove you are not at fault.

• In a dispute, allow your boss to be the decision maker. If you say, 'The only thing we can do is this,' that can make a boss angrier. But if you can offer a few options, that can help diffuse the situation.

Got a bad experience with an angry boss. I should say the experience is something not really terrible but makes me say "grrr..." just by thinking about it. Do you think being shouted at on the phone and then slammed is just okay? If being followed up with nonsense things when I am in the midst of a very busy work and beating deadlines is okay, then I don't want to even imagine what a bad boss can do.

Eight Things...(tag from Lena)

For the first time I am being tagged in the blogosphere. It is from Lena and here it goes...

You share 8 things that your readers don't know about you. Then at the end you tag at least 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.

Rules:

* Each blogger must post these rules first.
* Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
* Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.

Now, the 8 facts:

1. I am a government employee.
2. I am crazy about romantic comedy films.
3. I am a chocoholic.
4. Took the board exam only once.
5. A Dance-erous gurl...
6. Had my three babies all under normal delivery
7. I don't like pickles
8. was once a seriously Scottie Pippen fanatic!

And n0w I am going to tag Katherine, Jen, Jcoscia, Melinda, Guia, Tina, Hye, and Mae.

Enjoy!

Husband's Scowl

Have you ever been shopping with your husband? If so, I would really congratulate him if he have stood by you wherever you go around the malls or shopping stores.

Personally, I really want my husband to come along when I go shopping, even window shopping. But then, he would get tired after minutes of few rounds within the mall. Maybe because I usually take time to choose which one I would really want to buy, and so he would wait on a corner until I am done. One time, he just sat on a sofa and I was left hopping from one store to another for more than two hours. And when I get back to him, a scowl would meet me, for having taken so long.

Hubby shops at an instant. When he wants something, he would immediately buy it unlike me who will compare it with anything to see if something more interesting and costless is available. Hubby easily finds all he wanted because sizes are always available because of his built, while I always had a hard time finding my size because I am not blessed with a shapely body.

Well, that may be our differences. And the solution, SHOP ALONE!

Angelina is pregnant! . . .again.

From US Magazine.com...

Amid rumors that Angelina Jolie, 32, is expecting twins, a close source confirms to Us Weekly that the actress is indeed pregnant.
A radiant Jolie had tongues wagging at the Screen Actors Guild Awards January 27 in Los Angeles.
One SAG attendee tells Us in its latest issue, on newsstands now, "It was so obvious she was pregnant. You could clearly see the bump's outline."

The source reveals Jolie may sell the confirmation, with the money going to charity.
Reps for Jolie and Brad Pitt, 44, refused to comment.
The couple have four children: Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 19 months, whom Jolie gave birth to in May 2006.
Jolie and Pitt – Us' Couple of the Year – have been vocal about wanting more children.

Pitt said last month, "we're just getting started."
"Dedicated, kids first," Pitt has said of Jolie as a mother. "[She's] really inventive and great fun to them and very, very protective."

Last summer, when Jolie was asked how many kids she'd like to have, the actress responded, "Hmm, it fluctuates between seven and 13 or 14... Four is kind of kicking our ass, but we kind of feel like, damn it, we're up for the challenge!"
"I think we'll crap out somewhere between 7 and 9," Pitt has said.

Jolie's estranged father, Jon Voight, recently said, "It's wonderful news... if that's true."

Pitt and Jolie have been together since early 2005.

- -Hmmm, they are rushing things to the next level. Well, I hope they would really end up together. The kids are the ones who will be affected in the long run. Meanwhile, Angelina should look after her sexy body, she's still hot in the market nowadays...but if she really wanted to have more babies then bid her goodbye to the famous list. Oh well... with all their wealth, I guess having the perfect body is not difficult to achieve.

Wishing them well together.

Hayden from Tokyo

Got this photo from US Magazine.com... Hayden and co. came back from Tokyo for the promotion of his movie, Jumper. Well, didn't know that he was at Asia until I saw the pic and caption.

I'm looking forward to this movie. It is still coming soon in the threaters here in the Philippines, but I am marking my calendar and as soon as this movie hits the local screen, I'm off.

My Elf Name

I happen to browse through a SITE that generates our elvish and hobbit names. I was curious what my name would be... both in the world of elves and hobbits. I was more amused with the hobbit names, because it made me feel like I was one of those people in the movies like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter or the like.

My elf name - Uruviel Culnamo

My hobbit name - Lily Proudfoot

What's yours?

Check this Video

The song "Hate That I Love You" is very nice, especially since it is Rihanna and Ne-yo who sung the song.

Upon searching through YouTube for the music video of the song... I caught a glimpse of the title, attached with it is the word acoustic.

As I opened the link... there he was... some guy who in my very own opinion is really good. I really like his version of the song. He has made acoustic renditions of other songs and I was really enjoying each video that they have.

I'm sharing this... hope you would enjoy them too.
