From the bottom of my heart . . . I would like to express my undying appreciation and gratefulness to you all!

Still Single and Available

Just like me, my parents have produced three wonderful children, and I am the eldest. I know my parents have already sighed their big relief on our educational expenses because we all finished school and are currently working.

Well, among the three of us, I am the only one married at the moment. Both my younger brother and sister are still single, although my brother already have a girlfriend of 7 years. I don't know why they haven't decided to tie the knot yet, they are not getting any younger. He is turning 29 this year, but oh well what can I say? I understand if they wait a little much further.

Anyway, what I am worrying about is my sister. She is turning 28 this year and she still has no boyfriend. Pardon me for worrying, but I think that age should have find its match already. I mean, I married at the age of 23, so I really think her age is a little bit late now. She should find someone to spend her time with, especially since she is working away from us. Since she is such a picky person, I think it would be hard for her to personally meet her soulmate, lol!

Now I am considering of introducing her to passion search, an online dating website which is a great venue to meet a lot of personals. I hope she could find someone of interest after browsing through their members from all over the world. At her age, it would not be difficult to find someone at all, since she could refine her searches according to her tastes. Plus, the website's chat rooms would be a perfect place for her to communicate!

I am hoping against hope that she would heed my advice. And to all loveless persons at the moment, join passion search for free.

Warning About Tilapia

photo from wikipedia

I know a lot of people love to eat Tilapia. It is even considered one of most highly consumed fish in the US. I received a forwarded email from a friend about a warning against tilapia, so I am sharing it here for everyone to know (well, to those who have no idea yet...).

Researchers from Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center have concluded that farm-raised tilapia--the kind typically sold in supermarkets- -contains very low levels of the beneficial omega-3 fatty acids and very high levels of the potentially dangerous omega-6 fatty acids.

How dangerous is it? Eating tilapia could be far worse for your heart health than eating a hamburger, doughnuts or even pork bacon!

The double whammy of low levels of omega-3 fatty acids and high levels of omega-6 fatty acids could be potentially dangerous for some people with heart disease, arthritis, asthma and other allergic and auto-immune diseases that are particularly vulnerable to an "exaggerated inflammatory response." Inflammation is known to cause damage to blood vessels, the heart, lung and joint tissues, skin and the digestive tract.

"In the United States, tilapia has shown the biggest gains in popularity among seafood, and this trend is expected to continue as consumption is projected to increase from 1.5 million tons in 2003 to 2.5 million tons by 2010," write the Wake Forest researchers in an article published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.

The team discovered that farm-raised tilapia, as well as farmed catfish, "have several fatty acid characteristics that would generally be considered by the scientific community as detrimental. " Tilapia has higher levels of potentially detrimental long-chain omega-6 fatty acids than 80-percent-lean hamburger, doughnuts and even pork bacon. "For individuals who are eating fish as a method to control inflammatory diseases such as heart disease, it is clear from these numbers that tilapia is not a good choice," the researchers write. "All other nutritional content aside, the inflammatory potential of hamburger and pork bacon is lower than the average serving of farmed tilapia."

The heart healthy benefits of omega-3 fatty acids, found in abundance in salmon and trout, have been well documented-- so much so that the American Heart Association recommends everyone eat at least two servings of fish a week. Just don't make one of those servings of tilapia since it could actually do your body more harm than good.

My father liked this fish, and it is fortunate for me that I have not taken his fancy.

Organizational Efficiency

It really takes an effort in order to run an organization smoothly. It is not easy as pressing a remote control button, that whatever you wished for the moment would all come into place. Even the smallest business organization may be difficult at time, so how much more for the big ones. Problems with employees, in the operations efficiency, internal control, and financial factors are just about the things one needs to consider and decide on, among other things.

But everything can be resolved, for sure. Lots of experts have thought of means and ways to address problematic issues and have already developed programs and platforms, like the TeamWox CRM.

Kiss your organizational inefficiencies goodbye!

Proudly Filipino!

I was browsing some great fashion styles at Stylehive.com and found this gorgeous Monique Lhuillier Wedding Gown. Aside from the graceful and astounding appeal of its design, what made me gasp with awe was the fact that the gown was actually created by the artistic Monique Lhuillier, who is a Filipino. Monique was born and raised in Cebu City, Philippines and has always been fascinated by her glamorous mother's sense of fashion and style. Starting at an early age of 15, she left home for fashion schools, which led her to what she has become right now. Many celebrities have already worn her designs, and just thinking about that makes my heart swell with pride.

This ivory colored dress is made of organza, satin and silk. I liked its v-neck style because it goes well with the 'not skinny' ladies like me. Likewise, it is sexy. On the other hand, the over-all style is modern and chic, a representation of youth and maturity at the same time.

Now this is making me want to get married all over again. I wouldn't mind wearing this gown at all, lol! A lady can dream . . . haha, I wonder if hubby gets to read this.

Retirement Party Ideas

My mother has already contemplated of retiring when she turns 60. She reasoned out that it is about time to take a permanent rest from work, what with all her kids already through with school and are financially capable to support themselves. Well, that 60th year of hers would happen next year, since she was born in 1950, lol!

I guess that would be a great move for her to do, since she has been constantly suffering high blood pressures and other infirmities brought about by so much hard work. Oh well, it's all in the package really - - higher positions do come with great pressures.

Again, her 6oth birthday would be next year. One more year should not be taken for granted and as early as now, we should be already thinking of wonderful retirement party ideas for her. Being the eldest of her three children, I am overly excited for this important event of her life, when we could detail all her achievements and interests. Hoping we could make it a memorable one for her, such a welcoming stage to a new milestone. Of course, we should not miss out inviting all her friends, who would be great witnesses for this occasion.

I Love Facebook

I was inactive in social networking for quite a while now. The most frequent site I get to visit was friendster and multiply only, although I also have accounts with myspace, yuwie, tagged, flixster and facebook.

But lately, I was drawn into facebook because of my belief that most celebrities have facebook accounts. My intention was purely to meet them and get to know them more through their profiles. Well, my intentions are not put to naught, because I indeed get to have celebrity friends now and I am so much enjoying it. I never fail to check facebook daily and like any excited fan of celebrities, I am also getting giddy.

Well, aside from the celebrity "friends", I also had my real and online friends at facebook. I really had fun every time I write on their walls, and the anticipation that I feel for their replies and comments on my status, haha! Here's a scap of my profile:

What made facebooking all the more fun are the applications they have installed for their account holders. Quizzes, fashion wars and invitations for great causes - - they have it all for our total entertainment.

At the moment, I am enjoying poker on facebook. Even hubby is captivated and although he still have no FB account, he enjoyed playing poker using my account, haha!

Gotta check my wall again . . .

Web Hosting Decisions

I remembered a funny thought that I had a year ago. I thought I could host my own site in just a blink of an eye, not putting into consideration the processes involved to get through the final stage. Well, forgive me for having that thought, I am only human and yet naive in the world of cyberspace.

Now I know there are a lot of considerations of ponder on about web hosting and I am thankful that I was introduced to such idea, otherwise I would be making mistakes over and over again. These considerations ranges from cost to reliability, and even their customer support should be counted in. A number of web hosting providers are everywhere in the net and although all of them offer the same nature of services, of course they differ on how they extend those services to their clients. It would be a wise move then to get to know them more through reviews from customers and articles from experts.

I am saving up more resources so that I could eventually have my own domain for my two blogs. And while I do the saving, I will go over the reviews and hope I could make up my mind which to choose.

Walking Down Memory Lane

No matter how stressful the circumstance around right now, I am all smiles today. You see, 11 years ago on this exact day, I said 'yes' to a cute and wonderful guy who was a classmate on one of my accounting major classes. Yes, meaning - - I got a boyfriend last February 17, 1998 and that lucky ~~ geez, I hope he's not reading this ~~ guy turned out to be my husband for 7 years!

It is really funny to note that we take this day on a special note, much more special than our wedding anniversary, haha! We never fail to highlight this date, as one of the special occasions of our family.

Now, I am walking down the memory lane once again. It was one moment of my life when I felt genuine happiness and somehow my being young at that time, added more spice into it. Well, not that 20 years old is still young, but the feeling of a young girl having a boyfriend for the first time seemed like the grandest day of her life. What was funny about it then was that it all happened on the wake of our friend's father. He was mustering all his courage while I was still inside participating on the prayers. All his courage has been spilled out on our way home and when we got to my house, I said 'yes'.

Well, that certain 'yes' led to marriage 3 and a half years later, and produced three wonderful kids.

Private Number Plates

Private number plates are cool, don't you think? You get to show off your identity and fancies at the face of your car. And what great venue to show them off but at the forefront - - your car plates!

Hubby is hoping to have one, and I am hoping too that he picks the perfect letter combination *winks*.

Pressure and Stress

I have a deadline to meet - - at work. Well, I am only 50% done with the task and it is due this Thursday. Auditing is one job that I love the most, but when I am put on the edge, pressure sets in. Of course, stress could not be avoided, especially if you are determined to provide your very best quality of output at such a very limited span of time.

The deadline is only 2 days away and thankfully, I tried not to be affected with the pressure at all. I have to handle this stress well, otherwise I will be seeing some lines on my face.

It is important to remember that we should leave all work issues and concerns in the office. We have to put them down for a moment before they become heavier and heavier in our hands. Take time to refresh and once doing so, we can always go back and pick up those issues again. No matter how light those burdens may be, if we always hold them in, they would become heavy in time. Just like holding a glass of water - - its 8 oz weight may be nothing but very light, but if we hold them all the time, they would be increasingly heavy. This also applies to any burden we have in our lives, not just the work.

Well, for the moment, I am putting down my burden at work and unwind here in my blog, lol!

Paintball Is Fun

I have read on a lot of blogs already how paintball can be a great activity for leisure hours. I got so curious about this game and got impressed too with the gears and accessories. I told hubby about it, and since he is such an adventurer by nature, he too would also want to try it.

I still have to search here in our area for some groups who play paintball, so we could join in. Hubby is already excited to hold a paintball gun to show it off to friends while successfully eliminating his opponents. Haha, now I am beginning to imagine how this game would be like!

Gotta go and pick myself some paintball guns too and join hubby in this exciting game!

Hubby is 32!

My ever dearest hubby is already 32 today! Too bad he won't be with us today because he is out of town having their semestral performance review and evaluation. I do hope he could make it home tonight, no matter how wee the hours would be. But nonetheless, I am wishing him all the goodness of health and happiness.

Happy Birthday and we love you Daddy!

My Bag Is Lost!

I was about to change my bag this morning before going to work, but to my dismay, I haven't found it. All my bags are just kept in my closet and my small black Nine West bag is nowhere be found! Oh my, just where did the bag go? The last time I used the bag was two weeks ago.

I was searching for it everywhere, to no avail. I am totally exasperated on losing the bag. Well, it doesn't cost that much, but gee, it's not all the time that I could have a bag like Nine West! It's not something that I could just get anywhere at anytime.

Now, I have to try to search again, otherwise, I have to go through another series of money saving in order to have one.

Bitter Gourd

My father loves to plant. I guess that is why he made sure to have some extra lot for a yard and garden. I was taking a walk along the garden this morning and became pretty excited on what I saw.

You see, this is the first fruit from the bitter gourd/melon plant father has planted. I always love the vegetable, no matter how bitter the taste. I believe it has lots of nutrients that are very helpful for our bodies, Vitamins A, B1, B2 and C, phosphorous, iron and potassium.

Beef ampalaya has always been my favorite bitter gourd dish, and while I am making this post, I am dying to eat one! In the meantime, I have found a picture of this sumptuous and delicious dish - - thanks to Google!

Yum yum!

Zenni Optical, the famous store that offers prescription eyeglasses for only $8!, has once again made a noise in the media scene. They are recently mentioned in one of the giant news providers in the land - - the New York Times.

Zenni has already claimed their place in providing the best eyeglasses at affordable costs, like this one.

Blogging at Wordpress

I have it in mind to put up another blog about my three kids and another blog about my accounting profession but still haven't got the time. I am still very busy with my work, with the deadline coming up in less than two weeks.

Anyway, I am very excited to have these two blogs since they would be about what I love. I have also planned to have them at wordpress, so the excited grew all the more, since I would be stepping on a new ground. I would have a variety of blogs at a variety of blog hosts

I am already on the look-out for wonderful wordpress themes and luckily they are everywhere on the net. I found an excellent site for bloggers which features a wide selection of free wordpress themes and even a number of tips and tutorials.

Sigh . . . I couldn't wait to start.

Music Monday: Mad

It's Monday again and it means another music feature. Well, this week is pretty exciting because Valentines Day is just 6 days away. Before we knew it, we have reached the end of the week and it's already the day for lovers!

So, who among you guys like Ne-Yo? Well, I like him because I like RnB songs to begin with. Plus, he has lots of cool songs which I really don't mind listening to - - Sexy Love, Miss Independent, Because of You, Hate That I Love You, and so much more.

My feature for this week is a new song from Ne-Yo, though I really don't know if it is his latest. I heard this song over the waves recently and thought it is a lovely song, intended for married couples.

Lyrics | Ne-Yo lyrics - Mad lyrics

Enjoy and happy Monday peeps!

Learning Your Auto Rights

Getting into car accidents is something we all dreaded. Aside from the body injuries that we acquire, it would also be sad to note that our cars are now in total wreck. As much as we wanted to avoid these wrecks, there are really instances where we could not do away with it. And every now and then, we see headlines from the newspapers or news reports from the television about car wrecks.

Of course, there are insurance companies who would address your car's need for repairs. That should no longer be a problem then, when we know somebody else would take care for making our vehicle functional and presentable again. But no matter how fully recovered our cars are from its original look, we all know that its value has already diminished due to the damages it has already encountered. If we are planning to sell them, we can no longer ask for a much higher price anymore. *Sigh*

But then, regaining what we have lost along the way is something we could do and we have the rights. We could still claim for the diminished value of our cars. If we practice that right, we could get independent appraisals for our cars. Some appraisers are willing to fight for you so that you could get what you rightfully deserve from the insurance companies.

See The Dark.

Have you experienced poor night vision? Well, I'm guilty here! I have to grab my hubby's t-shirt every time we have to pass by some very dark places during the night. It is as if hubby has a very excellent one, but hey, he too has some difficulty seeing things through the dark. But mine is worse, anyway.

I am glad that there is a remedy to that - - nigh vision equipments of course! Like this best-seller item on the right, the Night Leopard 1st Gen Night Vision Monocular, it is the best way to regain good vision during the night. This is available at Optics Planet, a great website that provides the best quality night vision equipments, with a great deal of product reviews and knowledgeable support staff.

Well, kiss those night vision problems away!

Cough and Colds

I am pretty much worried about my kids' health recently. The three all have cough and colds, and my two sons have caught fever too. It's really no joke at all when your kids get sick, most especially if they got it at the same time! Whew!

Well, hoping they get well soon. It has been a week already since they catch the colds. My youngest is the one suffering the most, and I suspect his colds will develop into asthma if I don't act early. Poor boy, I can;t stand the sight of him having difficulty in breathing.

Tsk..tsk..tsk!

To all who dropped by, thank you, thank you!

Unsanitary Wastes No More

They say health is wealth and I very much agree to that. What's the point of having all the luxuries in life when you can not enjoy even a minute of it if you are feeling unwell. Well, thanks to the unending innovations of technology and research, we are not lacking with remedies and alternatives on how to avoid diseases and stay healthy for always.

One impressive breakthrough I came to know is C'elle, which is said to be promising for its possible treatment of dreaded diseases like breast cancer or diabetes, to name a few. If you take a look at some of the C'Elle Testimonials, you would surely be amazed like I do. I haven't imagined that mentrual fluids could be instrumental in health and stem cells could be collected from them. Mentrual blood could never be put to waste then!

The collected stem cells, which are self-renewing in nature, are cryo-preserved for future potential cellular therapies, and be utilized to treat life threatening illnesses. What's more, they could even be used for anti-aging treatments!

This would be a great investment indeed. We do not know what the future brings so might as well be ready for it. Order C'elle Now and experience your monthly miracle.

Music Monday: Each Passing Night

Pardon me if you are not familiar with the song I am going to feature for this week's Music Monday, because the song is an original Filipino music, performed by a local artist here in the Philippines. But anyway, the song is sung in English, so you won't have a hard time comprehending it *grins*. The song is titled 'Each Passing Night' by Gary Valenciano. Well, aside from the wonderful and talented atist who performed this, I liked this song's melody. It somehow awaken's my romantic side of life, haha!

The lyrics are already embedded in the video. If you wonder how the voice behind this song looks like . . . take a glimpse of his handsome face below.

Enjoy and happy Monday!
